THINGS TO DO

We are ideally placed in the heart of Findhorn, an idyllic conservation village on the Moray Coast. A few minutes walk takes you to cosy restaurants, bars and coffee shops if you don’t fancy cooking or just want to sit and enjoy the ambiance of our peaceful village life.

The Bakehouse organic café, Kimberly Inn or historic Crown and Anchor Pub with a fully stocked Whiskey Bar and open fire are all very popular. The Captains Table is a friendly waterfront café and bar with a new fish and chip shop, a great spot to watch the amazing sun sets. They also provide numerous boat trips and a 5 minute water taxi service across to Culbin Beach for a picnic where kids big and small can enjoy jumping off the high sand dunes.

Findhorn House shares its historic B listed building with the Royal Yacht Club and as our guests you can enjoy their bar with large glazed veranda, café and enclosed waterside garden.... with arguably the best view of the bay!

A short stroll along the sand takes you to our noisy seal colony, you’ll be amazed how large these creatures are out of the water! You may also be lucky enough to spot one of the resident Dolphins or Ospreys. The peninsula location of the village sees the calm bay water lead out into the Moray Firth providing breath-taking panoramic views from the sand dunes just a short walk behind us, an amazing place to enjoy the sunset or take a morning run on its golden sand.

GETTING AROUND

Findhorn is located in Morayshire, Scotland, renowned for its beautiful beaches, scenery and micro climate, allowing us more sunshine and less rain than many other parts of the UK. The famous Findhorn Foundation is also based here. Scotland has four main airports. Inverness is closest and located 25 miles from us, we are 75 miles from Aberdeen, 165 miles from Edinburgh and 190 miles from Glasgow Airport. The closest train station is less than 5 miles away in Forres, although we advise hiring a car to enjoy everything Scotland has to offer.

Inverness is a good day out shopping, and monster hunting on Loch Ness is always fun. Culloden Battlefield is also en route. The wonderful North Coast 500 driving road trip also starts here. We would recommend a drive through to pretty Hopeman and Lossiemouth, maybe stopping for some lunch or dinner at The Bothy Restaurant or Seafood Café.

There are various Links Golf courses within a 25 mile radius and of course Speyside's famous whiskey trail is close by too. There are numerous Munro’s to climb, beaches and castles to explore and national parks to visit.

Hamish

"We were immediately struck by the style and space of the luxuriously appointed flat and the warmth of Angela's welcome. Drinks were on ice and a generous hamper of local specialities awaited us in the kitchen... The accommodation itself is stunning and spotlessly clean. Plenty of space for a family with thoughtful touches like a Nespresso machine, wine fridge and drying room to make your stay comfortable and convenient."
